Legal Experience
My expertise covers most areas of criminal defence. I have experience in leading teams of lawyers acting for clients subject to complex police investigations including for murder, rape and fraud, some featuring civil liberties issues such as DNA and anonymous witnesses.
Provider of high quality legal advice. I have a good track record as a jury advocate. Junior advocate in a historic child abuse case. Now working as a consultant crown court advocate.

Experience in interviewing and recruiting lawyers and trainees. Experience in supervising solicitors and in-house advocates and in mentoring trainees. Experienced in devising and delivering in-house training and training materials for lawyers and trainee solicitors.

I present complex legal arguments to Crown Court judges. I prepare written advice for solicitors, skeleton arguments for judges and grounds of appeal for the Court of Appeal. Experience in preparing and delivering presentations on a variety of legal topics and on changes to legal aid funding in the UK.

Voluntary Work, Campaigning and Writing
I have worked as a volunteer for Liberty working on miscarriages of justice cases. I have volunteered at advice centres and I have also run legal advice sessions at a community centre. I am involved in local campaigning on issues such as welfare reform. In 2008 I became a school governor at a large primary school in London where I am now chair of governors. I am on the management committee of a local community law centre.

I have run and edited a political website as well as writing and editing copy for company websites. I have written for LCCSA magazine, The Justice Gap and newspapers on legal and other issues.

I am available as a freelance advocate for Crown Court or Magistrates work. Please see my website for more details.
